Who we are

A small team of facilitators who spent years in management before deciding to teach what we learned the hard way.

Workshop facilitator leading a session with engaged participants

We started Confident Leadership Workshops in 2019 after noticing a pattern: talented people got promoted into leadership roles and then received zero preparation for the human side of the job. Technical skills carried them to the role. People skills would keep them there.

Our workshops run in groups of eight to fourteen participants. That size is deliberate. It is large enough for realistic role-play scenarios and small enough that every person gets individual coaching from the facilitator during the session.

Each workshop lasts either a full day (nine to four-thirty) or two half-days, depending on what your organisation prefers. We come to your office, or you come to our space in Evetown. Both options work.

Since 2019 we have run over 280 workshops for organisations ranging from five-person startups to government departments with 400+ staff. The content adapts, but the principle stays the same: leaders learn by doing, not by watching.

What we offer

Six workshop formats, each addressing a specific leadership challenge. Mix and match to build a programme that fits your team.

Difficult conversations

Practice giving feedback that people actually hear. We use recorded role-plays so participants can watch themselves back and spot habits they did not know they had. Covers performance conversations, salary discussions, and delivering unwelcome decisions.

Decision-making under pressure

A half-day simulation where teams face cascading problems with incomplete information and tight deadlines. Participants learn structured decision frameworks and practice applying them when the room feels chaotic. Debrief includes individual decision-style profiles.

Communication for new managers

Designed for people in their first twelve months of managing others. Covers one-on-ones, team meetings, written communication tone, and how to communicate upward to your own manager. Runs as two half-days with a week gap so participants can try techniques between sessions.

Building trust in hybrid teams

Remote and hybrid work changed the rules for trust. This workshop addresses visibility, asynchronous accountability, and running meetings where remote attendees are not afterthoughts. Includes a team trust audit you can repeat quarterly.

Conflict resolution

Not every disagreement is a problem, but unaddressed tension always becomes one. Participants practise mediating disputes between team members using a four-step model. We also cover how to recognise when a conflict needs HR involvement rather than a manager's intervention.

Strategic thinking for mid-level leaders

Aimed at managers who need to shift from task execution to strategic contribution. Covers prioritisation frameworks, stakeholder mapping, and how to present a strategic proposal to senior leadership. Full-day format with a live case study drawn from your industry.

How it works

From first conversation to post-workshop follow-up, here is what to expect.

1

Discovery call

A 30-minute call where we learn about your team size, current challenges, and what success looks like for you. No cost, no obligation.

2

Custom design

We tailor exercises and scenarios to your industry. A logistics company gets logistics scenarios, not generic office dramas.

3

Workshop day

Interactive, hands-on facilitation. Every participant speaks, practises, and receives written feedback from the facilitator.

4

Follow-up

Two weeks later, a 45-minute group check-in to discuss what stuck, what did not, and how to keep practising.

What participants say

Feedback from leaders who attended our workshops in the past year.

I dreaded the role-play part, honestly. But watching myself on video afterwards was the single most useful thing I have done for my management skills. I noticed I interrupt people constantly. Knowing that changed how I run every meeting now.

We brought the team for the hybrid trust workshop after struggling with remote engagement for months. The trust audit tool alone was worth the day. We run it every quarter now and it gives us a clear picture of where friction is building.

I was promoted six months ago and had no idea how to run a one-on-one that was not just a status update. The new managers workshop gave me a simple structure I still use every week. My team has noticed the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the things people ask most often before booking.

How many people can attend one workshop?
We cap groups at fourteen participants. The minimum is six. Smaller groups get more individual coaching time, so if you only have six or seven people, that is actually ideal. For larger teams we run multiple sessions, sometimes on consecutive days.
Do you travel to our office?
Yes, anywhere in Victoria. We bring all materials, including a portable camera setup for the recorded role-play exercises. You just need a room with enough space for participants to move around and break into pairs. Interstate travel is possible too, with travel costs quoted separately.
What does a workshop cost?
A full-day workshop for up to fourteen participants starts at $3,200 plus GST. The two half-day format is $3,600 plus GST because it includes the between-sessions check-in. Custom programmes with multiple workshops are quoted per engagement. We send a detailed proposal after the discovery call.
Can the content be customised for our industry?
Every workshop is customised. Before the session, we interview two or three participants to understand the real situations they face. The role-play scenarios, case studies, and examples are then built around those realities. Generic content does not stick, so we do not use it.
Is there any pre-work for participants?
We send a short questionnaire about a week before. It takes ten minutes and asks participants to describe a recent leadership challenge they faced. Their answers shape the exercises. There is no reading or video to watch beforehand.
